Integrate Akeeba Backup Pro and HTProtect Centrally
J!UM does not replace established Joomla tools. Instead, the Control Center integrates their important status information and functions into a centralized maintenance workflow.
Akeeba Backup Pro can be integrated for controlled backups before maintenance tasks. HTProtect adds additional security information and checks to J!UM.
The centralized management of components, modules, plugins and templates works independently of both integrations.
Akeeba Backup Pro
If Akeeba Backup Professional is configured on a managed Joomla website, J!UM can request a backup directly from the Control Center. Individual backups or backups for multiple selected projects can be started as persistent jobs.
Large backups are processed step by step and do not need to complete within a single browser request. While a backup is running, J!UM displays the progress reported by Akeeba, the current processing step and the status of the job.
After a successful backup, the intended maintenance workflow can continue – for example by updating components, modules, plugins and templates.
Akeeba Backup Professional, an enabled API, a secure secret and a suitable profile ID are required for these functions.
HTProtect
A compatible HTProtect installation extends J!UM with additional security information for the managed Joomla website.
Depending on the connected version, site scans, core file checks and malware scans can be started directly from J!UM. Results and status information are stored per project and consolidated in the project view.
This makes it possible to assess security-related notices together with extension status, backup information and other maintenance data in one central place.
Multiple projects can also be selected together for supported checks.
Fully Usable Without Additional Integrations
Akeeba Backup Pro and HTProtect are optional integrations. J!UM does not require either extension for its core functionality.
Project management, connector status, extension inventory, search for available extension updates, updating components, modules, plugins and templates, background jobs, logs, email notifications and license information all work independently of Akeeba Backup Pro and HTProtect.
The integrations extend the maintenance workflow with backup and security functions – J!UM itself remains fully usable as a centralized extension management solution without them.
